Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest Muslim congregation of the world. More than two Million of Muslims from 150 countries join together in prayers on the final day of Bishwa Ijtema festival in Bangladesh. Biswa Ijtema means world congregation. It is one of the largest peaceful gatherings in the Muslim world after Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). The Ijtema is a prayer meeting spread over three days, during which attending devotees perform daily prayers while listening to Islamic scholars reciting and explaining verses from the holy Quran and Hadith.

The Ijtema is considered to be demonstrated of Muslim unity, harmony, mutual love and respect and an opportunity to reiterate their commitment to Islamic values, norms and ideology for all Muslim community in the world. This festival held in two phases every year in January. The first phase is allowed for devotees from 32 designated Bangladeshi districts. The second phase allows rest of the devotees from the remaining districts of the country. Foreign devotees are allowed in both segments.

Day One (Visit Ijtema Festival Grounds)

Pick up from your Hotel. Drive to Ijtema Festival Grounds
Photo shoots at Ijtema Festival Grounds for couple of hours and interacts with devotees and locals
Lunch in a local restaurant (taste authentic Bangladeshi traditional dishes)
Drive back to your hotel

Day Two (Visit Ijtema Festival Grounds and Roam Around Their)

Pick up around 10 ‘o’ clock, Drive to Ijtema Festival Grounds
Walk around and photo shoots
Lunch in a local restaurant (taste authentic Bangladeshi traditional dishes)

Day Three (Festival Grounds and Join for Culmination of Akheri Munajat)

Pick up early in the morning and drive to festival ground, Enjoy the Culmination of Akheri Munajat
Photo shoots at most crowed area near to the railway station.
Lunch in a local restaurant (taste authentic Bangladeshi traditional dishes)

Personal items

This tour is only possible if you stay in northern part of Dhaka (Uttara, Gulshan, Banani area only)
During the festival time all the roads in northern part of Dhaka become overcrowed so if it is not possible to use private car then we may have to use only Rickshaw as much as possible rest of the area we have to cover on foot! So prepare to walk a lot and get ready accordingly.
As we have to walk through overcrowded areas so please be careful about your staffs and belongings.
Please wear comfortable long dresses and shoes.
For ladies please cover your head and chest with scarf during festival ground and do not wear half sleeves.
Since local people don’t see many foreign tourists they might be a bit curious but are very friendly and cooperative peoples. Please be polite to the local people.
Please be respectful of Bangladeshi culture and religion because you may encounter situations different from your own tradition and culture.
Mentally be prepared to face bad traffic congestion during this tour.
